Bedingt durch die Migration der letzten Jahrzehnte werden mittlerweile auch in einer mittelgroßen Stadt wie Bielefeld wohl über 200 verschiedene Sprachen gesprochen. Die daraus resultierenden Situationen des Sprachkontakts prägen mittlerweile alle Bereiche des sozialen Lebens. Das Ziel des Seminars besteht nun darin, zunächst einen Überblick über die derzeitige sprachliche Situation insbesondere im hiesigen Raum zu gewinnen. Anschließend sollen ausgewählte Sprachen in ihrer Struktur, Geschichte und sozialen Bedingung untersucht werden. Am Ende sollen die Studierenden einerseits Grundkenntnisse über relevante Sprachen haben und andererseits theoretische und methodische Grundlagen der Sprachbeschreibung besitzen.
