Bielefeld University is part of the NEOLAiA network, an association of nine young, dynamically developing higher education institutions in various European regions. NEOLAiA offers students unique opportunities for international networking and personal development through joint courses offered by the participating universities.
Detailed information about the Summer School in Robotics:

The course of the module is offered in English. It is offered in a form of a summer school on Campus Almby, Örebro University, Sweden. Full participation is required to complete the module. Nominated students travelling to the venue can be funded via Erasmus+. You can find a general explanation of which course is offered in the module description of the NEOLAiA module (see Subject assignments). Further information will follow. If you would like to take part, add the event to your schedule as usual and contact the teacher to discuss the next steps.

Robotics is the collective name for the interdisciplinary branch of computer science and engineering that concern the design, construction, operation, and use of robots. In this Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), titled summer school in robotics, we focus on developing and implementing mobile robots using the Robot Operating System (ROS). The summer school is divided into two parts, starting with an introductory week (online) that introduces the functionalities and concepts behind ROS. The remaining four weeks (on-site) focus on the practical development of autonomous mobile robots by implementing methods and techniques commonly used to develop autonomous systems. Through project work in group form, you will collaborate to develop your autonomous mobile robots, which ultimately will be tested in a robot competition during the last week of summer school.

The summer school will mainly take place on-site at Örebro University, Sweden, between July 6 and July 31, with an additional preparatory online part between June 25 and July 3.

Application process:

Pre-requisites: 45 credits in computer science (or equivalent) and B2 level in English. If you are interested in participating, please add the course to your schedule first. You will be notified about participation after all interested parties have been reviewed. The application deadline is 2026-03-15

Financial Support:
