Der erstmals 1958 erschienene Band "Organizations" von James G. March und Herbert A. Simon kann mittlerweile zu den Klassikern der Organisationstheorie gezählt werden. Im Rahmen des Lektürekurses soll durch die vollständige Lektüre dieses Buchs ein Zugang zur verhaltenswissenschaftlichen Organisationstheorie geschaffen werden. Zudem soll durch die Lektüre ergänzender Einzeltexte eine Kontextualisierung dieser Perspektive auf Organisationen in benachbarte Ansätze der Organisationsforschung versucht werden.
Das Seminar richtet sich an Studierende des BA Soziologie mit organisationssoziologischen Interessen und setzt die Bereitschaft zur gründlichen Lektüre überwiegend englischsprachiger Texte voraus.
