Dieses Seminar richtet sich an alle Studierenden der Bachelor- und Masterstudiengänge Biologie, die sich nicht so recht an englische Texte/Veranstaltungen herantrauen und gerne ihre Kenntnisse noch ein wenig trainieren wollen. Ziel des Seminars ist es, den Einsteig in die Fachsprache Englisch zu erleichtern, den Kursteilnehmern die Scheu vor der Fremdsprache zu nehmen und sie in die Lage zu versetzen, an Diskussionen teilzunehmen. Auf der Grundlage populärwissenschaftlicher Literatur (z. B. Scientific American, National Geographic) werden Inhalte von den Kursteilnehmern zusammen erarbeitet und später auf Englisch diskutiert werden. Im weiteren Verlauf werden von den Teilnehmern Präsentationen auf Englisch erwartet. Leistungskontrolle: Seminarvortrag mit Ausarbeitung
