Atomic, molecular an optical physics is the playground for the development and first application of quantum technology. The present course tries to provide a sound introduction to these timely topics.
The covered topics are as follows:
- Quantum emitters - from atoms to quantum dots and point defects
- Spontaneous emission and Purcell enhancement
- Coherence, decoherence in quantum systems
- Time‑resolved probing of electronic and nuclear dynamics
- Fundamentals of nonlinear optical spectroscopy
- Quantum control fundamentals - Implementation of qubit operations
- Cavity and Circuit QED - Strong coupling and hybrid quantum systems
- Strong‑field and high‑intensity physics - HHG, attosecond pulse generation
Administration of the course will be organized in Moodle.
If requested the course is taught in English.
Atomic and Molecular Physics I
Quantum Mechanics I and maybe II
Will be provided during the course.
