Die Veranstaltung soll an zahlreichen praktischen Beispielen den Vorgang der Rechtsanwendung deutlich machen und einüben. Sie möchte dabei die nach der juristischen Methodenlehre zu beachtenden Regeln und Kriterien auf ihre Tragfähigkeit hin überprüfen. Auf diesem Wege soll versucht werden, Selbstvergewisserung über die juristische Arbeitsweise mit praktischem Handeln zu verbinden.
In der Veranstaltung kann der sog. große Grundlagenschein (§ 28 Abs. 2 Nr. 3 StudPrO 2007) im Wege einer Hausarbeit erworben werden.
