Instrumente, Methoden, Modelle sind die zentralen Begriffe wissenschaftlicher Praxis, die im Seminar aus philosophischer und historischer Perspektive behandelt werden. Das Spektrum der vorgestellten Texte reicht von der Rolle wissenschaftlicher Instrumente für die Legitimierung der modernen Wissenschaft in der frühen Neuzeit über Studien wissenschaftlicher Laboratorien im 19. Jahrhundert bis zur Ausbildung eigenständiger Forschungstechnologien in der Gegenwart. Das Seminar ist als Leseseminar konzipiert, es werden wichtige Texte der neueren Sekundärliteratur gelesen, vorgestellt und diskutiert. Bereitschaft zur kontinuierlichen Mitarbeit wird erwartet.
