261005 Normativity (GradS) (SoSe 2008)

Contents, comment

What is a norm? Are there things other than norms that should be called normative? If so, by virtue of what character? What norms are there? When does a norm exist? Only if it is obeyed most of the time? What is it to justify a norm? - such questions are the topic of the normativity discussion in contemporary philosophy. This discussion is still somewhat inchoate, with a variety of approaches, interests and terminologies coming together. The seminar will nevertheless try to enable participants to reach a considered view of these issues, i.e. of the role that norms have in our life.

Im Masterstudiengang erfolgt der Erwerb von Leistungspunkten ausschließlich auf Modulebene.
