Das vierstündige Seminar wird das vielgestaltige Oeuvre von Alexander Kluge (geb. 1932) behandeln, der nicht nur als literarischer Geschichtenerzähler, sondern auch als Filmemacher und als Fernsehproduzent hervorgetreten ist und damit seit Ende der 50er Jahre zu den wichtigsten deutschen Gegenwartsautoren zählt. Sein Werk bietet sich wie kaum ein anderes dafür an, die Strukturen und Prozesse moderner Intermedialität zu untersuchen.
Das Seminar ist vierstündig angelegt (und kann nur als Block besucht werden), damit wir auch die längeren Spielfilme und Fernsehsendungen Kluges gemeinsam studieren können.
Teilnahmevoraussetzung ist die in der vorlesungsfreien Zeit erfolgte Lektüre der "Lebensläufe" und der "Schlachtbeschreibung" (in: Kluge, Chronik der Gefühle), die zu Beginn des Seminars durch einen Eingangstest kontrolliert wird. Außerdem müssen die Teilnehmer ein Referat (z.B. eine Filmpräsentation) übernehmen.
