Der Kurs dient dem Erwerb des Fremdsprachennachweises nach § 7 Abs. 1 Nr. 4 JAG.
Er bietet eine erste Einführung in das englische Rechtssystem. In ihm werden die Grundprinzipien und Rechtstraditionen vermittelt, auf denen das englische Recht basiert, wobei das Hauptgewicht auf Themen liegen wird, die von besonderem Interesse für deutsche Juristen sind. Erfolgreiche Teilnehmer sollten am Ende des Kurses die grundlegenden Begriffe der englischen Rechtssprache (zumindest passiv) beherrschen und verschiedene Sorten von englischen Rechtstexten lesen und verstehen können.
Wer ein tiefer gehendes Verständnis von spezifischen Rechtsgebieten anstrebt oder Rechtsfragen in kleineren Gruppen auf Englisch erörtern möchte, sollte über eine Teilnahme an dem längeren 4-semestrigen Kurs (FFA) nachdenken.
