This Theory Class is first and foremost organized for the doctoral researchers in the Research Training Group “Cross-border Labour Markets” but also welcomes interested phd candiates from outside the RTG. The Theory Class addresses sociological and economic labour market theories, empirical and theoretical challenges pertaining to border-crossing labour markets, and the transnational embeddedness and regulation of border-crossing labour markets.
The Theory Class will be taught in two one-day blocks, one taking place in Bielefeld, the other taking place in Duisburg-Essen. It will be co-taught be scholars in economic sociology and the sociology of labour and labour markets and in labour economics.
