Das Seminar ist Teil des Basismoduls Epochen und Epochenumbrüche. Der Schwerpunkt des Moduls und der Veranstaltung liegt in der Bildung und Vertiefung literaturgeschichtlicher Kenntnisse für das lange 19. Jahrhundert. Wir werden uns Erzählungen aus der Zeit vom Vormärz in der ersten Hälfte des Jahrhunderts bis zur Klassischen Moderne bis ca. 1918 widmen. Da Literaturgeschichte immer die Aneignung einer größeren Menge an literarischen Texten voraussetzt, werden wir ca. 6-8 Texte lesen, diese aber nicht einer Tiefenlektüre unterziehen, sondern sie in epochale Kontexte einzuordnen versuchen. Zu den Autor*innen werden gehören: Georg Büchner, Eduard Mörike, Annette von Droste-Hülshoff, Ferdinand von Saar, Theodor Storm, Gerhard Hauptmann, Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Thomas Mann und Else Lasker-Schüler. Die genaue Auswahl der Texte wird über den Moodleraum zur Veranstaltung rechtzeitig bekannt gegeben.
