Musicals üben seit ihren Frühformen ab Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts eine große Faszination aus. Das Seminar spürt der Breite und Vielfalt dieses Unterhaltungsformats nach, indem die Seminarteilnehmer zunächst vokale Solo-, Ensemble- und Chorstücke aus Musicals praktisch erarbeiten. Diese musikpraktische Arbeit soll im vertiefenden Projekt auf Instrumentalstücke erweitert werden.
Darüber hinaus vermittelt die Werkstatt in Kombination mit dem vertiefenden Projekt musikalische Basiskompetenzen sowie einen didaktisch-methodischen Blick für die schulische Musikpraxis. Den Abschluss der Veranstaltung bildet eine Aufführung mit Adaptionen diverser Musicalstücke, umrahmt und verbunden mit selbstgeschriebenen Dialogpassagen, Zwischenspielen und medialen Klangkulissen.
