Diese Veranstaltung dient zur Vorbereitung auf eine Diplomarbeit mit einem Schwerpunkt im Bereich mikrobielle Genetik bzw. Genomforschung. Dazu wird eine experimentelle Aufgabe gestellt, die in der vorgegebenen Zeit gelöst werden kann. Lösungsansätze und experimentelles Vorgehen werden vom Studierenden unter Anleitung durch einen zugeordneten Betreuer selbst erarbeitet, der die einzelnen Schritte überwacht und bei auftretenden Schwierigkeiten Hilfestellung leistet. Über das Praktikum ist eine schriftliche Ausarbeitung anzufertigen und ein Vortrag im Rahmen eines Seminars zu halten.
