Der Kurs bietet einen Überblick über das Biobanking als zentrale Infrastruktur der modernen biomedizinischen Forschung. Behandelt werden die Arbeitsweise und Organisation von Biobanken sowie die rechtlichen und ethischen Rahmenbedingungen. Ein Schwerpunkt liegt auf Qualitätssicherung, Präanalytik und Prozessgestaltung. Dabei wird auch die Bedeutung der Probenqualität für nachfolgende Analysen wie Next-Generation Sequencing hervorgehoben. Weitere Themen sind Dokumentation, IT-Systeme und die Einbindung von Biobanken in nationale und internationale Netzwerke.

Requirements for participation, required level

Es wird empfohlen, vorher die Veranstaltung Gute Klinische Praxis/Good Clinical Practice „Von der Idee zur klinischen Studie – Eine Einführung in klinisch-translationale Forschung“ - Teil I + Teil II von Prof. Grosser zu besuchen.
