Die Forschungswerkstatt richtet sich nach den Bedürfnissen der Teilnehmer. Aktive Teilnahme ist gefordert, einschließlich einer Vorstellung der eigenen Arbeit.
Der Fokus liegt auf methodischen Fragen, wie Forschungsdesign, Begriffsbildung, Theoriewahl, Datenerhebung und Auswertung. Wir arbeiten auch mit Materialien aus den Dissertationsprojekten.

Die Forschungswerkstatt wendet sich an Doktoranden, um sie entsprechend dem Konzept der "Research Class" (Forschungswerkstatt) der BGHS über mehrere Semester methodisch zu begleiten. Anspruchsvolle Diplom- und Masterarbeiten können auch diskutiert werden.
Die Forschungswerkstatt ist aufgrund ihrer mehrsemestrigen Anlage nicht für vorübergehende Gaststudierende geeignet.
