Diese Vorlesung schließt an eine Vorlesung über numerische Grundlagen
(Numerik I) oder über gewöhnliche Differentialgleichungen an. Die benötigten
Grundkenntnisse werden zu Beginn der Vorlesung zusammengestellt.
Auf der Grundlage dieser Vorlesung wird im Sommersemester
ein Bachelorseminar angeboten, in dessen Rahmen eine Bachelorarbeit
geschrieben werden kann.Thema der Vorlesung sind numerische Methoden zur Lösung gewöhnlicher
Differentialgleichungen. Je nach den Zusatzbedingungen
unterscheidet man Verfahren für Anfangswertaufgaben und für
Randwertaufgaben. Zentrale Begriffe sind Einschritt- und Mehrschrittverfahren,
Konsistenz, Stabilität, Konvergenz, Schrittweitensteuerung und steife Differentialgleichungen.
