Die Epoche ‚Mittelalter‘ fasziniert Leser aller Altersklassen – historische Romane finden sich auf den Bestsellerlisten der Belletristik, die Adaptionen mittelalterlicher Stoffe und Motive erfreuen sich großer Beliebtheit.
Die Arbeit mit den lyrischen und epischen ‚Originalen‘ des deutschen Mittelalters erlaubt es Schülerinnen und Schülern, ihre literarischen Kompetenzen mit Blick auf die diachronen Entwicklungen in der Literatur- und Sprachgeschichte zu erweitern.
Im Seminar sollen zunächst die Möglichkeiten untersucht werden, die die Lehrpläne des Landes NRW für die Behandlung mittelalterlicher Texte im Deutschunterricht vorsehen. Danach werden unterschiedliche Theorieansätze vorgestellt und auf ihre Einsatzmöglichkeiten in der Unterrichtspraxis hin geprüft.
