230448 Mitleid in Theorie und Dichtung (S) (WiSe 2015/2016)

Vielleicht würden wir heute eher von Mitgefühl als von Mitleid sprechen. Trotzdem scheint es unumstritten, dass das Mitleid eine wichtige Rolle im täglichen Miteinander spielt. Das wurde nicht immer als positiv angesehen. Hier möchte das Seminar ansetzten und die Entwicklungsgeschichte des Begriffs „Mitleid“ genau unter die Lupe nehmen.
Konkret werden verschiedene Bereiche hinsichtlich dieser Thematik in Theorie und Dichtung betrachtet. Dabei richtet sich der Blick auf Positionen wie die von Thomas von Aquin über Gotthold Ephraim Lessing bis hin zu Friedrich Nietzsche.
