This course focuses on emotion in as it interacts with language comprehension and other cognitive processes. Introductory lectures will introduce the concept and history of emotion (research). Example topics include (but are not limited to) theories of language and of emotion, the relationship of emotion to cognitive processes, affective influences on language comprehension, and the effects of emotion on attention.
Student should have background knowledge in linguistics and a basic understanding of psycholinguistics. The course is held in English.
