Contents, comment

In this class, we will read and dicuss a number of very recent papers from the area of phonetics and laboratory phonology as to get an overview of the current "state of the art" in that area.

We will be concentrating on aspects of theory and modeling, focusing on both segmental and suprasegmental issues. Thus, besides learning about relevant topics currently under discussion, we will also be learning about the methodological state of the art both from a theoretical and modeling point of view.

The class will be held in English, participants will be expected to prepare a set of papers before the class is held and prepare a presentation on at least one of those papers. Besides, they will be expected to actively participate in class discussions on the various topics presented.
