Das Recht weist räumliche Relevanz in mindestens folgenden drei Hinsichten auf:
I. Das Recht als Funktionssystem ist räumlich (mit) verfasst: Raum wird relevant insbesondere durch die strukturelle Kopplung an Politik, die als Funktionssystem der Weltgesellschaft segmentär, d.h. räumlich binnengegliedert ist.
II. Das Recht regelt räumliche Verhältnisse
III. Medien der Rechtskommunikation haben räumliche Implikationen: Schriftlichkeit/Aktenförmigkeit, Mündlichkeit/Wahrnehmbarkeit
Im Seminar werden diese drei Aspekte theoretisch und empirisch untersucht. Nach der Klärung rechts- und raumsoziologischer Grundlagen werden die Studierenden Erkundungen im Rechtsalltag durchführen und deren Ergebnisse präsentieren.

Sehr gute Kenntnisse der soziologischen Theorie, insbesondere der der Rechts- und Regulierungssoziologie, entsprechend dem Stand nach dem MA-Seminar "Rechtssoziologie" werden vorausgesetzt.

Die Lektüre aller Texte ist Pflicht. Sechs schriftliche Exzerpte sind jeweils am Tag vor den betreffenden Sitzungen im STud.IP abzulegen.
Zusätzlich werden Themen in Gruppenarbeit vorbereitet und präsentiert.
Für die Modulprüfung im Modul "Rechts- und Regulierungssoziologie a/b" ist eine Hausarbeit erforderlich. Hausarbeiten müssen spätestens eine Woche vor Beginn des Sommersemesters in elektronischer und schriftlicher Form abgegeben werden.
Hausarbeiten können auch während des Semesters geschrieben und im Seminar vorgestellt werden. Dadurch entfällt die "Nachbereitung" des Seminars in der vorlesungsfreien Zeit. Vorschläge werden ggf. in der ersten Sitzung diskutiert. Bei Interesse ist Kontaktaufnahme vor Semesterbeginn empfehlenswert.
