Die Veranstaltung führt in die wissenschaftliche Psychologie ein. Historisch orientiert werden wesentliche Schulrichtungen psychologischen Forschens (z.B. Anfänge der Experimentellen Psychologie im 19. Jahrhundert, Psychoanalyse, Behaviorismus, Kognitive Neurowissenschaft) sowie die mit ihnen verbundenen Fachgebiete (z.B. Allgemeine Psychologie, Persönlichkeitspsychologie, Klinische Psychologie) vorgestellt.

Die Vorlesung richtet sich an Studienanfänger/innen des B.Sc. Kern- und Nebenfaches Psychologie.
