Sprache ist ständig im Fluss. Im Laufe der Zeit hat sich das Deutsche so sehr verändert, dass uns heute Texte aus dem Althochdeutschen vollkommen fremd erscheinen. Doch auch in jüngerer Zeit gab es Sprachwandel auf allen linguistischen Ebenen und auch heute können wir viele Veränderungen beobachten. In diesem Seminar werden wir Mechanismen und Hintergründe von Sprachwandel einerseits theoretisch betrachten und andererseits Methoden kennenlernen, mit denen man ihn empirisch untersuchen kann. Dabei werden wir alle Sprachstufen vom Althochdeutschen bis zum Gegenwartsdeutschen besprechen und sprachliche Phänomene auf verschiedenen Systemebenen analysieren (Phonologie, Morphologie, Syntax, Semantik, Pragmatik, Graphematik).
