Development and use of scientific knowledge are key factors of modern societies and their relevance is rising. Scientific knowledge is always contested. And it is always shaped by its specific historic context (different interests of people, the place and time when and where it emerged). In this introduction course we focus on the generation, validation, dissemination and adaptation of scientific knowledge in historical perspective.
