Das Seminar setzt sich aus kritischer Sicht mit den Zusammenhängen von Technik und Wissen(schaft) auseinander, die unter digitalen Bedingungen noch einmal erheblich an Wirkmacht gewonnen haben. Forscher*innen aus den Bereichen des Feminismus und der Black Studies kritisieren dabei die rassisierenden und vergeschlechtlichten Normen, die allzu häufig als "objektiv" dargestellt und naturalisiert werden. Sie zielen damit auf eine Wissensproduktion, die hegemonial strukturiert ist. Kritische Technoscience erkundet dagegen die Situiertheit von Wissen, das heißt die Rolle, die Vorwissen, Kontexte, Begehren, Identität, Rassismus und Sexismus in der Produktion und Interpretation von Wissen spielt, selbst in den vermeintlich ‚harten‘ Naturwissenschaften.
Das Seminar wird sich mit grundlegenden Figuren (z.B. Cyborgs, Assistenzsystemen), Operationen (Containing, Leaking, Consenting) und Materialitäten (Metalle, Öl) und ihren vergeschlechtlichenden und rassisierenden Implikationen befassen.
