Diese Veranstaltung ist für Studierende geeignet, die über den Erwerb epidemiologischer Grundkenntnisse hinaus Interesse an epidemiologischer Forschung und aktuellen Fragestellungen der Epidemiologie haben und vielleicht selbst als Epidemiolog*innen arbeiten wollen.
Das übergeordnete Lernziel der Veranstaltung ist, selbstständig ein eigenes Forschungsprojekt zu planen und dieses in einem Forschungsantrag ähnlich dem DFG-Format darzustellen.
Die Veranstaltung setzt sich aus einem Epidemiologieteil (75%) und einem Statistikteil (25%) zusammen. Fast alle Veranstaltungen finden in englischer Sprache statt. Dies reflektiert den internationalen Charakter der Veranstaltung und bereitet die Studierenden angemessen auf eine akademische Laufbahn vor. Für die kritische Lektüre epidemiologischer Publikationen sind englische Sprachkenntnisse unabdingbar.The overarching learning objective of the course is to independently plan one's own research project and present it in a research proposal.
The course consists of two parts: one focussed on epidemiological study designs (75%) and one on statistics (25%). The course is taught in English. Students prepare and present their research proposal in English. This reflects the international character of epidemiological research and prepares the students appropriately for an academic career.

Unbenotete Studienleistung: 3 Vorträge zum Fortschritt des Antrags zu vereinbarten Terminen + Code nach der Statistik-Veranstaltung im Lernraum speichern.
Benotete Prüfungsleistung: Studienleistung + 1 Hausarbeit: Forschungsantrag zusammen mit Code, der eine einfache Fallzahlkalkulation simuliert.
