In den Seminar geht es um "Gemeinschaftsverfahren" in der qualitativen Sozialforschung, was Interviewmethoden mit Gemeinschaften in Form von Familien und (anderen) Gruppen meint. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf den Gruppendiskussionen. So wird es im ersten größeren Block um die methodengeschichtliche (historische) Entstehung und Durchführung des Gruppendiskussionsverfahrens gehen, zu dem auch eine Exkursion ins Archiv des ersten "Gruppenexperiments" nach Frankfurt a.M. geplant ist. Im zweiten Block Richtung Ende des Seminar gucken wir uns dann auch familiengeschichtliche Gespräche an. Behandelt werden immer methodologischer Hintergrund (Sozialtheorie, Methodengeschichte) und die Durchführungstechnik, auch werden wir die Gruppendiskussion innerhalb des Seminars "üben".

Ein Seminar dient der gemeinsamen Erarbeitung von aufeinander aufbauenden Arbeitsergebnissen und Erkenntnissen. Vorausgesetzt wird daher die regelmäßige Beteiligung am Seminar als Arbeitszusammenhang, die zudem über die - ebenfalls regelmäßige - Textlektüre vorzubereiten ist. Hierfür wird ein Reader im Lernraum bereitgestellt werden.
