Die Erforschung der Genese sozialer Unterschiede zwischen Menschen ist ein zentrales Anliegen der Differenziellen Psychologie. Im Rahmen dieses Seminares soll das Zusammenspiel von individuellen Merkmalen (Eigenschaften) und sozialen Kontexten (soziale Faktoren) für die Entwicklung von Lebenschancen in verschiedenen Lebensbereichen betrachtet werden. Neben einer Einführung in verschiedene psychologische und soziologische Theorien, anhand derer dieses Zusammenspiel näher betrachtet werden kann, nimmt das Seminar auch die Entwicklung von Kompetenzen und Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten in den Blick und betrachtet die Ergebnisse neuer empirischer Forschung in diesen Bereichen. Hierüber bietet das Seminar Einblicke in aktuelle Forschungsstrategien und Anwendungsbezüge, sowie die Interpretation von Forschungsergebnissen im Bereich der Erforschung von sozialen Unterschieden zwischen Menschen.
