Die Veranstaltung gibt eine Einführung in das Betriebssystem Linux und die Nutzung der Kommandozeile. Die vermittelten Fertigkeiten sind die Grundvoraussetzung für die Arbeit mit den Linux-basierten Workstations in der Technischen Fakultät, die zur Lehre und Forschung eingesetzt werden.
Die Veranstaltung dient zur Auffrischung der Kenntnisse aus dem Unix-Praktikum. Studierende, die zu Anfang des Semesters feststellen, daß sie mit der Arbeitsumgebung im GZI nicht (mehr) zurechtkommen, sind ausdrücklich eingeladen, die Veranstaltung zu besuchen!
Inhaltlich wird ca. die erste Hälfte des Unix-Praktikums wiederholt und abgedeckt. Die Veranstaltung ist daher kein Ersatz für das Unix-Praktikum und ersetzt dieses insbesondere auch nicht als Prüfungsleistung. Leistungspunkte oder -bescheinigungen werden nicht vergeben - es geht nur darum, die TeilnehmerInnen fit für die Nutzung der Arbeitsumgebung der TechFak und insbesondere im GZI zu machen!
