Die Kinderkunstwerkstatt bietet Studierenden des Faches Kunst&Musik die Möglichkeit, gemeinsam Sequenzen künstlerischen Lehren und Lernen zu planen, durchzuführen und zu evaluieren. In unmittelbarer Anbindung an kunstdidaktische Veranstaltungen insbesondere im Vorfeld des Praxissemesters vergewissern sich Studierende hier ihrer bisher erworbenen Kompetenzen im Praxisfeld kunstpädagogischen Handelns. Neben der Herausforderung, Kinder für künstlerische Arbeit zu begeistern, materielle und mediale Arbeitsbedingungen zu organisieren sowie produktive, reflexive und rezeptive Phasen inspirierend zu verknüpfen, bietet die Kunstwerkstatt einen geschützten Raum des gemeinsamen Beobachtens, Fragens und Forschens.
