Die Studierenden erkennen die grundlegende Rolle von Oxidation und Reduktion im Stoffwechsel. Sie verstehen die Bedeutung einer Oxidationszahl und die Stöchiometrie von Redoxgleichungen. Sie lernen die elektrochemische Spannungsreihe und den Einfluss von physiologischen Bedingungen.
