Die Studierenden können nach der VL die Synthese, Funktionen und Abfluss des Kammerwassers und der Tränenflüssigkeit erklären. Sie können die Grundlagen der Glaukomdiagnostik benennen und den pathophysiologischen Unterschied zwischen Engwinkelglaukomen und anderen Glaukomformen erläutern.


In der VL Glaukom I werden die Grundlagen der Glaukomdiagnostik (Funktion, Morphologie, Augeninnendruck) und die Unterscheidung Primäres Offenwinkelglaukom (PCOWG) vs. Engwingelglaukom behandelt. Die VL Glaukom II baut auf den Inhalten der VL Glaukom I auf, in diesem Zusammenhang werden dann auch die therapeutischen (inkl. operativen) Möglichkeiten des PCOWG und der sekundären Glaukome behandelt.
