250431 DFH-Festival: „The only future is ancestral: inspirations from Krenak's provocative words“ (WS) (SoSe 2025)

Contents, comment

This is a workshop with the purpose of giving an initial contact with Indigenous philosophical ideas, which are generally unknown in most of the academic branches. We want to show that Indigenous philosophy is diametrically distinct from Western philosophy, and may indicate a pathway for healing our society and our planet from the disease called "anthropocene". Our workshop will be mostly inspired by the book "Ancestral Future" from Ailton Krenak, but will include insights of other philosophers, including academic ones. After an introductory talk given by the organizers, the participants will discuss (in small groups) some selected provocative statements extracted from Krenak's book. In the last part of the workshop each group will present their impressions.

The workshop is open to anyone interested in participating in the debate about the future from a perspective that is not based on Western culture.
