202102 Spezialmodul "Posttranskriptionelle Regulation" (Ü+Pr) (SoSe 2015)

Post-transkriptionelle Regulation ist ein hot topic der Molekularbiologie. Seit der Entdeckung und Beschreibung von RNA-Interferenz 1998, für die Fire und Mello 2006 den Nobelpreis erhalten haben, häufen sich die Beweise, dass post-transkriptionelle, RNA-basierte Regulation von Genexpression in allen Organismen und biologischen Prozessen zu finden ist. Im Rahmen dieses Spezialmoduls können die Studierenden ausgewählte Fragen mittels bioinformatischer und molekularbiologischer Analysemethoden bearbeiten. Sie werden die Studierenden verschiedene Phänomene wie Alternatives Spleißen und microRNA-basierte Genregulation kennenlernen. Hierbei werden z.B. RNA-Immunpräzipitation und stem-loop RT-PCR verwendet. Bioinformatsich werden unter Zuhilfenahme großer Transkriptdatensätze konservierte Sequenzelemente auf DNA- und RNA-Ebene bestimmt und diese anschließend im Labor auf ihre Funktion getestet.
