Mittelalterliche Romane sind in aller Regel in Versform verfasst; für den neuzeitlichen Roman hingegen wird die Prosa charakteristisch. Das Seminar behandelt den Wechsel vom Vers zur Prosa an ausgewählten Texten aus der Zeit um 1500. Am Beginn wird dabei der ‚Fortunatus‘ stehen.
