Kinder im Grundschulalter sind Experten, wenn es darum geht, Welt auf ästhetische Weise zu erkunden, sich mit gestalterischen Aktivitäten zu ihrer Umwelt in Beziehung zu setzen oder eigenes Empfinden mit bildnerischen Mitteln auszudrücken. Dieses Potenzial gilt es im Kunstunterricht der Grundschule aufzugreifen und weiter zu entwickeln.
In der Veranstaltung wird es einerseits darum gehen, kindliche Arten der Selbst- und Welterkundung an Beispielen kennen zu lernen, um sie vor dem Hintergrund ausgewählter Bezugswissenschaften aber auch vor der Folie der eigenen ästhetischen Sozialisation besser zu verstehen. Zugleich werden Themen, Aktionsformen und künstlerische Strategien auf ihr Potenzial hin befragt, Grundschulkinder mit entwicklungsadäquaten inhaltlichen und methodischen Setzungen im Kontext ästhetischer Bildungsarbeit zu stärken und diese Setzungen aus aktueller kunstpädagogischer Perspektive zu begründen.
