Die Einführung vermittelt anwendungsrelevantes Grundlagenwissen der romanistischen Literaturwissenschaft an Textbeispielen der französisch- und spanischsprachigen Literatur aus verschiedenen Jahrhunderten. Orientiert an den drei "Großgattungen" Dramatik, Lyrik und Prosa werden grundlegende Begriffe diskutiert, Methoden der Textanalyse vorgestellt und eingeübt sowie Grundprobleme der Literaturtheorie thematisiert.
