Wettbewerb und Prioritätskontrolle sind zentrale Merkmale der Informationsverarbeitung menschlicher Gehirne – alltagspsychologisch wird dieses Faktum mit dem Begriff „Aufmerksamkeit“ beschrieben. In den letzten Jahren lieferten Verhaltensexperimente in Kombination mit neurowissenschaftlichen Messmethoden (z.B., EEG, fMRT) ein neues Bild davon, in welche Teilprozesse das Alltagsphänomen „Aufmerksamkeit“ zerlegt werden kann und wie diese Teilprozesse im Gehirn zusammenarbeiten könnten. In dem neu erschienenen Oxford Handbook of Attention (2014, Hrsg. Anna Nobre & Sabine Kastner) wird der Stand der Forschung in ca. 40 Kapiteln zusammengefaßt. In dem Seminar sollen ausgewählte Kapitel des Handbuchs (1 Kapitel pro Sitzung) vorgestellt und diskutiert werden.

Das Seminar richtet sich an M.Sc. Hauptfachstudierende der Psychologie, die ein BSc Studium in Psychologie mit Schwerpunkten im Bereich der Allgemeinen Psychologie und der Neurowissenschaften absolviert haben.
