Die Veranstaltung dient der Sensibilisierung für die besonderen Lernvoraussetzungen von Schülerinnen und Schülern, die sich in unterschiedlichen Phasen des Aneignungsprozesses der (Zweit-)Sprache Deutsch befinden. Dazu führt die Vorlesung in Begriffe zur Analyse und Beschreibung sprachlicher Strukturen, Hypothesen zum Zweitspracherwerb sowie Literalitätsentwicklungen und Fachlernen unter den Bedingungen von Mehrsprachigkeit ein. Thematisiert werden u.a. lebensweltlich-biographische Aspekte von Mehrsprachigkeit, zentrale Einflussfaktoren des Zweitspracherwerbs, relevante linguistische Grundlagen der Sprachbeschreibung, Merkmale und Entwicklungen von Lernersprachen, Fehler als Indikatoren für lernersprachliche Entwicklungsprozesse, Diagnostikverfahren, kontrastive Sprachbetrachtungen sowie konzeptionelle Mündlichkeit/Schriftlichkeit.
Im Modul Deutsch als Zweitsprache wird eine gemeinsame Vorlesung (Einführung in das Fach Deutsch als Zweitsprache) für alle Studierenden angeboten. Die Vorlesung findet in zwei alternativen Zeitschienen zur freien Auswahl statt.
