Das römische Recht ist der Vorläufer des auf dem europäischen Kontinent und in weiten Teilen der Welt geltenden Zivilrechts. Die Vorlesung mit integrierter Quellenexegese behandelt die äußere Geschichte des römischen Rechts und das römische Recht selbst. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei das römische Privatrecht. Quellentexte werden mit Übersetzung zur Verfügung gestellt. Lateinkenntnisse sind nicht erforderlich. Für Hörer ab 4. Semester.
Im Anschluß an die Vorlesungszeit kann durch Anfertigung einer Hausarbeit ein Leistungsnachweis gemäß § 46 Abs. 1 Nr. 4, § 20 Abs. 1 Nr. 4 StudPrO (großer Grundlagenschein) erworben werden.
