Die Studierenden können den mikroskopischen Aufbau der Niere, insbesondere des Tubulussystems mit HENLE-Schleife im mikroskopischen Präparat sicher erkennen. Sie können die wichtigsten Nierenfunktionen (Harnbildung, Blutdruckregulation und Hormonproduktion) den zellulären und morphologischen Korrelaten zuordnen und erläutern. Die makroskopische Gliederung der Nieren in Cortex und Medulla mit Markpyramiden sowie der Übergang ins Pelvis renalis ist mikroskopische erklär- und nachvollziehbar.

Die Studierenden können die funktionellen Eigenschaften des Ureters anhand des mikroskopischen Wandaufbaus erläutern. Sie können die Harnblase im histologischen Präparat erkennen, den Wandaufbau beschreiben und die Veränderungen des Epithels (Urothels) bei verschiedenen Füllungszuständen der Harnblase beschreiben.
