In this study group we will try to devise our own concept for creative writing as a feminist practice. This concept will be centered around different theories by feminist writers (e.g. Patricia Yaeger, Adrienne Rich, Bell Hooks) and our own collection of primary texts (primarily poems, short stories and essays, as they are short enough for us to read and prepare within a week). The goal of this study group is to create a concept that serves our own needs and that can inform our own practices of creative writing and the reading of other feminist texts. Over the course of the semester, we will refine our initial ideas to arrive at a more or less coherent concept to deepen our understanding of the potential of creative writing as a feminist act.
