In diesem Modul werden die Kultivierung von Mikroorganismen in Bioreaktoren und die Aufarbeitung der entsprechenden Produkte behandelt. Die einzelnen Versuche beinhalten die Kultivierung eines gentechnisch veränderten E. coli-Klons und die Aufnahme und Auswertung von Prozessparametern während der Kultivierung, die Isolierung eines rekombinanten Proteins durch Zellaufschluss und weitere Aufarbeitungsverfahren. Zur Herstellung eines niedermolekularen Produktes wird die Kultivierung eines Pilzes im Submersverfahren durchgeführt.
Im Rahmen einer Hausarbeit sollen Themen aus der Biotechnologie schriftlich ausgearbeitet und im Rahmen eines Seminarvortrags vorgestellt werden. Das Praktikum ist im 5. Semester vorgesehen.
