In der Veranstaltung werden zuerst wissenschaftstheoretische Fragen und Strömungen besprochen: Kritischer Rationalismus und empirisch-analytische Wissenschaftsauffassung, Hermeneutik, Kritische Theorie. In einer zweiten Phase werden Forschungslogik und Forschungsprozess in der quantitativen und qualitativen Forschung vorgestellt. Das Verhältnis von Wissenschaft und Ethik, Wissenschaft und Politik, Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft ist Gegenstand des dritten Teils. Schließlich geht es im vierten Teil der Veranstaltung um Praxis: wie verfasse ich Hausarbeiten und schriftliche Texte?
