Die Entwicklung einer stabilen Werteorientierung von Kindern und Jugendlichen ist nicht erst seit dem Erscheinen des letzten Buches von B. Bueb ein Thema. Verschiedene Schulfächer, die als Alternative zum Religionsunterricht angeboten werden, versuchen eine systematische Auseinandersetzung mit Sinn- und Wertefragen. Aber auch schulfach-unabhängig gilt es, Werte zu entwickeln. Im Seminar sollen die verschiedenen aktuellen Ansätze in den Ländern aufgearbeitet und kritisch beleuchtet werden. Daneben findet eine Diskussion über value education auch im Ausland statt. Zum Abschluss des Semesters soll auch diese Diskussion aufgegriffen werden.
