Die Vorlesung "Wirtschaftsvölkerrecht I" möchte einen Überblick über dieses komplexe Rechtsgebiet liefern. Hierbei sollen zunächst seine historischen und philosophischen Wurzeln näher betrachtet werden, um dann die verschiedenen Akteure (WTO, EU, MERCOSUR, NAFTA, ASEAN, APEC, OECD, UNO, ECOWAS, OPEC, OECD) näher in den Blick zu nehmen. Besondere Bedeutung wird hierbei der immer engeren Verflechtung der verschiedenen Rechtskreise zugemessen. Schließlich werden dann die materiellen Regelungen des Wirtschaftsvölkerrechts behandelt, wobei das Welthandels-recht, der internationale Handel mit Dienstleistungen, Fragen des geistigen Eigentums und das internationale Wettbewerbs- und Gesellschaftsrecht eine besondere Rolle spielen werden. Nicht zuletzt sollen Fragen der Querverbindungen dieser wirtschaftlichen Regelungskomplexe zu anderen Gebieten, wie dem Menschenrechtsschutz, der Entwicklungshilfe und dem Umweltschutz diskutiert werden.
