This reading course investigates the theory of spatial econometric modelling. The basis here is the book
J.P. LeSage, K. Pace: Introduction to Spatial Econometrics. Chapman and Hall, 2009.
Additionally the manual of the MATLAB Toolbox Spatial Econometrics provides many insights.
Both books will be partitioned into sections (mostly chapters). Each section will be discussed in one session of the course, guided by a short summary of content provided by one of the students.
The course will be taught in English to allow BigSem students to participate.
Details on the modalities of the course will be discussed in the first meeting on 14.10.2014.
The course is open for students from the master "Statistische Wissenschaften" and BigSem. The upper limit for participants is 20.
