Der Kurs dient als Einstieg in die finnische Sprache und eignet sich an Teilnehmer/innen, die keine oder nur sehr geringe Finnischkenntnisse haben. Ziel des Kurses ist es, die Teilnehmer/innen mit den Grundstrukturen dieser nicht-indoeuropäischen Sprache vertraut zu machen. Eingebettet in Alltagssituationen werden Grundkenntnisse und Regeln des Finnischen vermittelt, die es möglichen, sich in Finnland zu orientieren und verständlich zu machen. Auch kulturelle und landeskundliche Themen sind ein Bestandteil des Unterrichts.
Das Lehrbuch wird im Unterricht bekanntgegeben.
