Bei der Rezeption illustrierter Texte oder auch in Multimedia-Anwendungen wirken Sprach- und Bildinformation zusammen. In psycholinguistischer, aber auch medien-praktischer Hinsicht ist die Frage, wie dieses Zusammenwirken funktioniert, von besonderem Interesse. Der Beitrag, den Text und Bild zum Verstehen komplexer Sachverhalte leisten, ist einer der produktivsten Forschungsgegenstände in der gegenwärtigen Kognitionswissenschaft.
Im Mittelpunkt der Veranstaltung stehen theoretische Überlegungen und empirische Befunde zu integrativer Sprachverarbeitung. Behandelt werden u.a.
- semiotische Grundlagen und aktuelle Verstehenstheorien,
- Modelle der Repräsentation sprachlicher und bildlicher Information,
- einschlägige experimentelle Untersuchungen,
- Fragen der optimalen Gestaltung multimedialer Informationen.
